Woven
Milan Pekař, Tereza Sluková
The collaborative project consists of a collection of ceramic furniture and objects inspired by textile techniques such as weaving and knitting. We were inspired by the first prehistoric ceramics, which were made by packing clay into woven baskets and then firing them. Ceramics and textiles were probably some of the first complex crafts that people used. Ceramics have survived in large quantities, but early evidence of weaving survives only as imprints in pottery fragments. Weaving and knitting are used not only as a decorative pattern but also as the main supporting structure of objects.
